The Passing of Arts Educator, Frieda Hall
It is with heavy heart that we share the news of the passing of our friend, Frieda Hall. Frieda was an amazing woman with a boundless spirit. A beloved arts educator at Ramsay High School, she was loved, respected, and admired by all who knew her, worked with her, and were taught by her. She inspired so many in her long career in the arts.
Frieda has been a dedicated ambassador of Magic City Art Connection since the early years. Her influence and strong belief in the importance of community support and volunteerism, especially in the arts, introduced hundreds of high school students to the festival through a an annual Imagination Festival (IF) volunteer program that she spearheaded. In this partnership, her students stepped into the roles of classroom leaders for 3rd and 4th grade elementary school students attending IF’s Friday arts education outreach program. Forever grateful for her support of the festival and connecting us with her talented students, we look forward to nurturing that legacy into the future.
In 2013, it was our privilege to honor Frieda with the Magic City Art Connection’s Arts Educator Award. A small thank you for all she’s done. We will miss her dearly.
