The famous quote, “Everything is bigger in Texas” rings true for Magic City Art Connection’s (#MagicCityArt) 2016 juror and featured poster artist, Paul Kremer of Houston, TX. With 7 foot high paintings, like Kremer’s “Hopper 2” featured on MCAC’s 2016 poster (at right), his graphic and colorfully colossal work packs a big punch, and a little bit of eye trickery. Kremer’s style, which has been described as having influences in minimalism, is an exciting balance to his super-sized execution.

Kremer is the 5th artist being spotlighted through the art festival’s ongoing partnership with avid collector, board member and graphic design sponsor Scott Miller of Miller Communications. In addition to his work being the face of the MCAC this year, Kremer will lend his artistic talent and point of view as juror of the 215 artists exhibiting in downtown’s Linn Park April 22-24. Annually the festival awards 24 cash prizes to its exhibitors, including the future artists participating in the High School Sculpture Project. It’s a huge task jurying the festival, but we think Kremer will be ideally suited because of his affinity for going big.
