Artist Bio
Influenced by her graduate-level practice as a former pediatric grief counselor and social worker, Tracy Casagrande Clancy’s photographic and visual explorations examine the influence of life and death among us, as evidenced in the tiniest details of our daily interactions.
Tracy also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Art, which inspired her to combine her love of photography with the encaustic process, an ancient painting form and that utilizes hot wax and hot oil application.
Layered foundational images are communicated in Tracy’s encaustic work by employing combination of techniques including beeswax, oils, pastels, graphite as well as original and found materials to achieve depth, texture and pattern in her finished pieces.
