Sylacauga, AL

Using an intuitive approach I create loose and somewhat abstracted florals and landscapes. I enjoy allowing the materials to take the lead as I work. Allowing the colors to mix abstracting
the image from what it originally was. At times I will carve back in with paint or color pencil to sharpen specific areas. Overall looking for a calm and peaceful moment within the work.

I’m from the small town of Eclectic, Alabama. I graduated from Troy University in 2013 with a Bachelors in Fine Art and Graphic Design. After college I took on a few Graphic Design jobs in Montgomery, Alabama; where I started my family. When we were married in 2018, I put away my oil paints due to lack of space in our home, as well as the fear of our animals getting into them. Still needing a creative outlet; I turned back to my love of watercolor and light mixed media practices. I had no idea the crucial pivot that decision would make for my life. It has led me here to this very moment where you are interacting with my story.
