Artist Bio
Leah Karol is photographer and digital artist from Birmingham, Alabama. She creates extraordinary worlds for her subjects through photographic compositing and draws inspiration for her work from transcendent abstractions of symbols, myths, and fairytales to create whimsical images that evoke universal themes.
Her most recent body of work, a reverential portrait study inspired by early canonized femail saints (i.e. St. Joan of Arc and St. Hildegard of Bingen), aims to spark the imagination, opening up anew our historical, religious, and patriarchal vies in light of modern culture.
