Painting has always been a therapeutic practice for me, as I hope it is for those for view my art as well. I explore new ways to look upon things we often take granted, such as the colors and details deep inside a collection of flowers that conjure up feelings of nostalgia and contentment. I take my brush, my paint, and my subject and transform them into how memories are felt, not just seen. I share with you the comfort and serenity found only in those sweetest of memories from our past.
Bio – Nashville artist, Katie Trokey began painting at a young age while experimenting with her mother’s watercolors to capture vases of flowers she picked from her grandfather’s garden. This love of the artistry of flower arranging and capturing took her to work in a flower shop in high school, create floral decor and embellishment for family and friends’ events, and eventually arrange bouquets on canvas in her bold and romantic black background floral pieces.
