I enjoy working and sculpting with the clay for its delicacy, strength and suppleness. By adding the oil colors into the paintings, it makes the objects come alive. Clay arts could be transformed and makes it a perfect medium for exploring the iconic meaning of beauty and flexibility.

Clay flowers are handmade from special air-dry polymer clay, using steel wire, paint, glue, tape, paper and foam as a filler. Each is cut, rolled and sculpted with cutters, where each flower has its own cutter set. The parts are cut from the still soft clay, then formed with specially designed tools. After drying, these parts are, painted with vibrant oil colors in realistic details and then precisely assembled into a whole flower. The artworks will be placed in the pots or on the driftwoods.

My models are traditional flowers or orchids, which will create the realistic looks and bring the sculptures come to life. The inspirations are purely out of joyfulness of wonderful Mother Nature has to offer. I have spent my artistic career for over 20 years by rendering versions of the flowers and orchids to reflect the world we live in into the form arts appreciations. However, my most pleasant feelings occurred when the customers unbelievably said “wow” that they had initially thought that these artworks were the real flowers. These admirations and inspirations have inspired me to continue creating these “magics” toward their satisfactions because these are the artworks what I love to do wholeheartedly.
