I take photos. In the past I have painted and sewn and written and acted and played music, but I’ve never done anything I liked as much as using a camera and seeing the images that that machinery can produce.

I don’t have a particular look, style or subject matter. People, places and things all catch my eye. And I have a hard time sticking with just using a camera to produce photographic images…I make cyanotypes as well and collage from the clippings of prints I’ve made. And since I do love sewing, of course I’ve had to introduce fabric to the cyanotype process.

I love to share my work to connect with other artists and with young people by teaching.

I studied visual art at the Alabama School of Fine Arts and International/Intercultural Studies at the University of Montevallo where I made art independently of teachers and assignments. I taught art and photography at Banks Academy for 3 years until those classes were eliminated and have hosted summer camps for homeschoolers and facilitate art and sewing at a homeschool co-op.
