I began drawing and painting at an early age. My afterschool job while I attended high school was in the office of an architect who was also a master draftsman and watercolor artist. In college as part of my studies of Architecture, I took an intense mix of drawing, painting and sculpture courses. After graduation, I practiced as an architect for 40 years, before retiring to pursue art full time.
My primary medium is oil paint. I love the luminosity oil colors can produce as well as the forgiveness of oil due to its slow drying time. My process is one of searching for scenes often involving ordinary objects and places that have qualities that I can capture to share with others.
