I am a professional photographer/digital artist that displays work at art shows throughout the U.S. I have two bodies of work. The first is images of the Birmingham area shot primarily at night or in low light conditions. The second is floral images shot in studio against black backgrounds using light painting with LED flashlights as the sole light source. I am largely self taught but did receive training in forensic photography during my police career. I have transitioned from using sheet film with what I call documentation photography in which the goal is to accurately portray a scene as it was discovered, to using the latest digital equipment and software as a starting point for artistic interpretation of what I observe. It has been a journey of over 50 years that I hope continues for many more.
