A self-taught sculptor, I make functional objects alongside sculptural pieces and public commissions. My work stems from an interest in both minimalism and nature and I seek to create lasting works that maintain visceral and tactile qualities. Stone is my material of choice not only for its permanence, but also because I enjoy both the challenges and limitations inherent in the process to create works that are authentic to the material. Although I use a broad range of stones including granite and slate, my primary interest is working with limestone and marble native to the state of Alabama.
Recent public commissions include sculptural pieces for the Society of Pioneers of Montgomery and Hyundai Motor Manufacturing, Alabama.
