2D Mixed Media
Statement – The beauty of subtle variations of tone over dramatic contradictions in texture creates a visible effect in my abstracts that inspires the viewer to want to reach out and feel the transitions. I am inspired by the natural world as well as our human need to connect through the written word. Using various materials such as resin, acrylic paint, pages from my favorite novels, and sculpt-able modeling medium, I create a soothing mix of texture in my abstract paintings that is often described as calming or serene. I began abstract painting in 2020. My work can be seen in Kathleen’s Fine & Interiors in Decatur, AL and I was selected to participate in River Clay Art Show 2021. I currently reside in Decatur, Alabama.
