Alby is a self-taught, Birmingham, AL, based artist whose love of art began in the mid 1960’s when he bought a camera, built his first dark room and began shooting b&w photography and making b&w prints. Since then his techniques and media have changed to include digital photography, image manipulation, linoleum blocks, alcohol inks and various other forms of expression. While his works range from photo-realism to the abstract, Alby remains deeply devoted to nature, finding inspiration in everything organic, even just a streak of light. Alby’s goal in any work, is to elicit an emotional response in his audience and to create a body of work that will give pleasure for generations to come.
