2022 Juror Announcement
Magic City Art Connection (MCAC) is honored to announce that Jessica Helfrecht, Artistic Executive Director at MINT Gallery in Atlanta, will be joining us in Birmingham as the 2022 Festival juror. Each year, the juror has a key role at the festival. They are responsible for touring the Festival’s 150 artist booths on Friday, and then awarding up to 15 cash prizes ranging from Best in Show to Awards of Distinction. It’s no easy task, especially with all of the wonderful work on display at MCAC.
Jessica is not stranger to Birmingham. She was the original founder of Bare Hands Gallery, which was first located on Richard Arrington Blvd just before crossing the bridge into downtown. She also served as the Festival’s arts education coordinator for several years producing inspiring and impactful art experiences presented by local artists to kids, families, and visiting schools attending Imagination Festival’s workshop program.
MCAC is honored to have her back in Birmingham this spring in this new professional capacity at the Festival, which is celebrating its 39th year April 22-24 at Sloss Furnaces National Historic Landmark.

We hope to see you the last full weekend in April!
